lead guide & instructor

A Truckee resident via Las Vegas, Raleigh, Orlando, and Rochester, NY, Craig is now confident he’s done moving. After all, how can you beat life in the Range of Light?

Craig’s family spent summers in a Coleman pop-up roaming about northeastern Canada and the St. Lawrence seaway. In between camping trips, he played soccer, made dangerously unstable bike ramps, and read comic books.

After his English and Professional Communication Degree, Craig hurried to the south to surf, camp, and explore the empty coastlines and rhododendron-strewn landscapes of North Carolina.

Along the way, Craig attended the National Outdoor Leadership School’s (NOLS) Outdoor Educator program, and earned Wilderness First Responder and Leave No Trace Master certifications.

He has guided countless hikers, campers, and backpackers in the Grand Canyon, Yosemite, Utah’s Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, Zion National Park, Bryce, throughout Lake Tahoe, and the Native American oasis of Supai. He also works with the Wounded Warrior Project, assisting our nation’s veterans in their effort to use wilderness as a vehicle for healing.

Craig snowboards, rides bikes on trails, and climbs a little. He and his wife have an Aussie named Ranger.
